An Alcoholic Version of a Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all thru the house Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse;   The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,             In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds,             While visions of household peace danced in their heads; And mamma in her kerchief, fell quickly to sleep,             And I with my nightcap, h ad just settled in to finish my bottle of scotch; I had dozed off for a minute when out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my recliner to see what was the matter.   Away to the window I flew with a staggering stumble,             Tore the ottoman and pulled the curtains off the window.
